New Moon Cake Flavour: Moldy Moon Cake

Moon cake these days are so fancy. From classical lotus paste and nuts to chocolates and fruits, not to mention Jelly moon cake is my current favorite.
Past few years there was this big ass company introduced some fancy little Sakura flavor moon cake that cost an ass. They brought the Sakura leaves and flowers fresh from Japan.
How knows, this year a "new" flavor introduced. It's the snow Japan Winter snow flakes flavor.

It's a moldy Moon cake.
It is not expired yet (refer picture 1)

My parent has a nibble on the other side. When my brother pick his nibble, then only my parents realise it is moldy.

Luckily the sales person willing to exchange a new 1 for us.
P/s: the moon cake is from Six Happiness.

Few years back, I read an article about how to make strawberry wine. The process is just the same, that my mom is now using dragon fruit and lemon instead of strawberries. I wounder Muslim can consume this? >.<

How to create a magnetic lock: Phase I: Ask Professionals

From the last post, since I am limited source and information, I found out that one of my junior's parents is having a electronic repair shop in Kepong. They can do windings for me. Thus, I try my luck and visited them yesterday. Well, I should say it is not a smooth one. When I reach Kepong, it rains heavily. I am not familiar with Kepong and still tailing my junior's car. However, we still reach the destination.
When we (my groupmate and I) reach there, his dad took out some copper wire and a mechine to do winding.

However, this 2 thing is not helpful since my knowledge towards the subject is not correct. The ferromagnetic core that I get from my senior can't be use because as told by the uncle, a ferromagnetic core is suitable on high frequency AC transformer but not on DC device.

Well, guess I have to start all over again.
He suggested me to find some old transformer to get the E shape core.
The cons is that the transformer is very hard to dissemble (dissect).

How to create a magnetic lock: Phase I: Research

Been a long time not writing anything about my projects and assignment. I have done a few quite interesting project, but not yet post it here. This magnetic lock project is what I am currently working on.
Commercial Magnetic lock
Well, basically, This is how the commercial magnetic lock looks like.

From what I know, this kind of device usually takes in DC. Some device might work on Ac too but of course, the strength is lesser.

I'm gonna do one just like it, but try not to look very similar.
I am not improving the lock, but just for the sake of learning and completing assignment.

I dissect a lock. The internal core and winding looks like this:

It has a E shape metal core and insulator around it. With my dad's help I manage to tore the insulator down.


Shockingly, not as what I expect, it's not a bar nor a circular ring that we usually see or not even the U shape core that theoretical so call strongest. Note that the ends of the "E" is not insulated, it is open to the surrounding, not in the core. When the the device turns on, the ends of the "E" attracts metals which we call it electromagnet.

It's quite lengthy and bulky.

On the other hand, lets look on the metal plate that attach the the door which later the electromagnet attracts. I assume the plates should be very thick else when the switch is on, the magnetic is pull by a human force, if the metal plate can't withstand the force, it will bend.
I hope I can find something similar to this in scrap metal dumping field.

A senior of mine gave me these. It's ferromagnetic core. According to him, it's the core that makes transformers.

I'm bring this material to find my junior's dad which is a professional in transformer. Hope he can help me to do some winding or at least give me some advice on the theory part of the project .

I think the process should be very painful, but the vibrating metal plates feel like needles too. So can't really feel which is the needle which is cause by the metal plate vibration.
